In the ongoing conflict with Russia, Ukraine is significantly enhancing its warfare technology to support its frontline troops. The introduction of uncrewed robotic ground vehicles is revolutionizing logistics on the battlefield, enabling the transport of ammunition and supplies directly to soldiers in the trenches while also facilitating the evacuation of injured personnel. Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has highlighted the urgent need for tens of thousands of these vehicles by next year, as they provide a critical advantage in areas heavily impacted by Russian artillery and drone attacks.
These innovative vehicles are already proving effective, having been deployed in combat zones, including a recent operation in Russia's Kursk region. Fedorov emphasized that the primary challenge for infantry units is maintaining supply lines amid enemy fire, and these ground platforms are addressing that issue efficiently.
In addition to robotic vehicles, Ukraine's production of long-range drones has surged dramatically, with ambitious targets set for the coming year. The country aims to produce 30,000 deep-strike drones as it responds to the increasing threat posed by Russia's extensive use of long-range drones. The integration of artificial intelligence into drone operations is also being embraced, allowing for autonomous targeting and enhanced battlefield effectiveness.
