County agenda features tax, technology and fairgrounds

The meeting will center on how to fund the ongoing fairgrounds project, a long-discussed priority for the county. Officials are expected to review the latest cost estimates and possible revenue sources, as the final price tag has shifted in recent months. Alongside that, the court will consider approving a purchase of new equipment for the county golf course, which has seen increased play but aging machinery.

On the tech side, the agenda includes a proposal to upgrade several outdated software platforms used by the tax assessor's office and the county clerk. The goal is to improve online services and cut down on processing delays that have drawn complaints from residents. A vendor presentation is scheduled, and the court may vote on a contract if the numbers line up.

Beyond the big three items, commissioners will also hear a routine update on road maintenance in the northern precincts and discuss a minor zoning change near the airport. The public comment period is set for the start of the session, and residents are encouraged to speak on any item.
